Private Duty Nurses


If ordered by your doctor, arrangements can be made by your family for a private duty nurse. No nurse may be employed for private duty in this hospital without proper authorization from the Department of Patient Care Services. Private duty nurses are not employees of the hospital and will therefore render a separate bill which is paid directly to them. The cost of private duty nursing is not currently covered by the Medicare program.
